DRAWING AND 3D MODELING
Once, the jewel “dreamed” and “imagined”, I must transpose it in 3 dimensions, it is a very important and crucial step because it will allow, if it is perfectly mastered, the realization of the future jewel.
I model the jewel taking into account all the dimensions thanks to a 3D software, specially conceived for jewelery jewelery. I create the wax model using a 3D printer, a very innovative and revolutionary technology.
WAX AND CAST IRON
The wax models from the 3D printer will then be transformed into metal by the lost wax casting process.
Lost wax is a process in which the molten metal replaces, by melting, a wax model placed in a mold.
This technique makes it possible to cast complex parts in one piece with great precision in the details.

The image is used to rough the cast piece after removing the cast iron. The emerisage is a finer surface treatment than the image, made with emery paper composed of very hard minerals, to soften the metal even further. The jewel is thus prepared for the future stages that await it.
The work of the crimper consists in fixing the stones on the jewels and on the objects of ornaments. The preparation, called “stone setting”, is usually done by the jeweler who designed the piece or by the crimper.
There are different techniques, the main ones are the claw set, the closed set and the grain set.
POLISHING AND FINISHING
The polishing of the jewel is intended to make the surface of the jewel shine with a brush or disc made of cotton or canvas, rotating at high speed, loaded with polishing paste to which the jewel is rubbed.
